One evening, a Cherokee elder told his grandson about the battle that goes on inside people’s heads.
One is unhappiness. It is fear, worry, anger, jealousy, sorrow, self-pity, resentment, and inferiority. The other is happiness. It is joy, love, hope, serenity, kindness, generosity, truth, and compass@ion.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf wins?”
The old Cherokee simply replied:
“The one you feed”.
The happiest people aren’t the ones with the most money, things, friends, power, attention, health or even love. Neither are they always the ones with the least, although an unsurprisingly high number are.
The happiest people are the ones who practice gratitude and focus on loving life consistently (along with having goals and making progress towards them).
“The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate” – Oprah Winfrey
What better reason to praise your own life, and celebrate that it’s here and happening right now? But the fact is that when you put out the energy of being grateful and happy to be alive, more things will come into your life that will make you want to put out even more of this same energy.
“The purpose of our lives is to be happy” – Dalai Lama
Anyone still wondering what the point of life is just has to read this succinct by accurate quote. Your own happiness is the number one concern for you, and you should go after it with reckless abandon. We weren’t put here to suffer or be sad all of the time. Sadness has its place, as without it we wouldn’t know what it’s like to be happy, but our main purpose, the one that trumps all others, is just to be happy while we’re here on Earth. The rest falls into place when you just focus on being happier.
It’s my firm belief that even when it seems like everything’s going wrong in your life, there is always, always, ALWAYS something that’s going right. You owe it to yourself to find out what that is and bring it into your awareness.
As I told every one of you that I have decided to be happy now and you won’t believe me but this week was one of the best of my life as I was not worried about anything. I did all my work without any tension. Thank you everyone for supporting me and motivating me to get out of the closet of sadness and hold hands of happiness.
Also this week there was World’s Health Day and the theme this year was Depression. I think people need to understand that depression is not a voting card issued by the government that only 21 years old can get it. I hope that anyone who is suffering from this dreadful thing gets out of it as soon as possible as everyone deserves to be happy.
At the end, I’ll just say that if a person like me can get out of sadness then why can’t you? If anyone who is reading this article is sad or depressed about anything, don’t you worry friend I am there for you. If you need any help then you can reach me through my e-mail(firstname.lastname@example.org) or can comment on this post. I’ll be happy to help you.
